Two men in Mumbai city of India were held with more than 7 kilograms (kgs) of Uranium which is considered one of the highly explosive and radioactive elements and could be used for malicious purposes.

The first information report (FIR) against the suspects was registered on the complaint of an official of the Mumbai-based Bhabha Atomic Research Center (BARC).

Following the complaint, a suspect named Jigar Pandya was arrested by Maharashtra Anti-Terror Squad (ATS) when he was about to sell Uranium to a party.
During the investigation, the suspect revealed that Abu Tahir, a resident of the Mankhurd suburb in Mumbai, had given him pieces of radioactive element.
On the revelation, ATS officials conducted a raid and apprehended Abu Tahir. The seized substance was sent to BARC for further analysis.
