US Department of Justice: Daesh terrorist Sharifullah confesses to crime

The US Department of Justice has confirmed that Daesh terrorist Sharifullah has pleaded guilty to assisting in the planning of the Abbey Gate attack.

The terrorist admitted to facilitating the attack by providing route information and logistical support. He will face trial for supplying resources to militants.

According to the Justice Department, Sharifullah confessed to his involvement in the attack’s preparation and disclosed details about routes near the airport. Officials stated that he would be prosecuted for aiding terrorism.

In an official statement, the Justice Department confirmed that Sharifullah has been arrested.

He is set to appear before the US District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia on Wednesday, where criminal charges have been filed against him by the US government.

US Attorney General Pamela Bondi stated that the Daesh terrorist had orchestrated the brutal killing of 13 brave Marines.

During a television interview, the US Defence Secretary also expressed gratitude to Pakistan for assisting in the capture of the Daesh militant.

The operation was carried out by Pakistan based on intelligence provided by US agencies.

American news agencies have reported that Pakistan arrested top Daesh commander Sharifullah based on intelligence shared by the CIA.

The US has identified him as the mastermind behind the August 2021 Abbey Gate bombing during the withdrawal from Afghanistan.

In his address to Congress, former US President Donald Trump thanked Pakistan for its cooperation in capturing Sharifullah.

Reports from US news outlet Axios cite two American officials who confirmed that Sharifullah, also known as “Jafar,” was a key leader of a Daesh faction operating in Afghanistan and Pakistan.

He is accused of planning and overseeing the deadly August 26, 2021, suicide bombing outside Kabul Airport, which killed 13 US service members and more than 170 Afghan civilians.
