Once again, Iran’s controversial former President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad comes into vogue after he wished 50th birthday to assassinated American rapper Tupac Shakur on June 16.
Tupac was one of the leading names of hip-hop music of the 1990s, who was fatally attacked in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas in 1996.

Tupac’s family and friends posted some of his memories from the past on their social media handles on his special day too.
In this regard, Iran’s former president also composed some of his thoughts about the famous rapper.
“Happy 50th Birthday to a legend. As Tupac would say himself ‘People die but legends live forever”, he wrote.

In 2005, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad became the president of Iran and during his tenure in office, he remained popular in headlines due to his remarks and actions that were often considered controversial by many people.
Ahmadinejad termed Holocaust a “myth”, denied the existence of gay people in Iran, and imposed a ban on Twitter during his tenure.
The former president follows some renowned personalities including Argentine footballer Diego Maradona, US basketball star LeBron James, Venezuela’s President Nicolas Maduro, and David Duke, the former Grand Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan.
After completing his presidency, he has been active on Twitter since he joined the networking site in 2017 and often pours out his thoughts on a variety of topics.
Last month, Ahmadinejad shed light on US poverty and inequality that American rapper Tupac Shakur had mentioned in his songs and referred to the work of his father Huey Newton.
Huey Newton was co-founder of the Black Panther Party, who fought to end inequality and hunger in American society which was highly intolerable in US.
Although Ahmadinejad was popular for twisting religious ideology in favor of his unique blend of Iranian nationalism, anti-imperialism, and mysticism through his presidential term.
However, the change in Ahmadinejad’s behavior has garnered attention and now people are wondering how come a stereotypical Iranian hardliner has inclined towards the politically active influencers.
I get surprised anytime I see Ahmadinejad tweet something related to rap and hip-hop.
