Brazilian President, Jair Bolsonaro, got into a surprise when the home club did not allow him into the stadium to watch Sunday’s league match between Santos and Gremio.

The president revealed that the club have a policy that didn’t entertain unvaccinated audiences in their stadium.

Although the soccer match was Santos’ first with supporters present since the outbreak of the pandemic, the club strictly followed the new restrictions in which it would only permit the entry of vaccinated people.

Sources said that Bolsonaro neither get himself vaccinated nor he is encouraging others to do so, saying that he had antibodies because he had already recovered from the virus.

Despite being a keen football fan, the Brazilian President wasn’t allowed to enter the stadium and it shows that the club is following every possible measure to curb the spread of covid.

On the flip side, Santos’ spokesperson cleared the rumors by saying that the club wasn’t approached by the president’s team and that all fans must follow the country’s sanitary regulations.

As per data, more than 600,000 residents have died after contracting covid-19 in Brazil.
