A Beijing court overruled the request of a Chinese woman, named Zhou Xiaoxuan, who filed a petition in a high-profile sexual harassment case.
Back in 2014, Zhou accused one of the country’s most famous TV hosts Zhu Jun of workplace harassment as he groped and forcibly kissed her while she was working as an intern in the same organization.
Zhou took the matter to her social media account in 2018 after she gathered the courage to pen down her experience.
Later, when her accusations circulated on social media, Zhou filed a petition against Zhu for damages some 3 years ago.

After 3 years of filing the petition, the court conducted the first hearing of the case in December last year behind closed doors but the Chinese woman was left disheartened.
The Haidian People’s Court declared that the case can’t proceed as there wasn’t sufficient evidence to support harassment claims.
Some sources claimed that since the lawyer of Zhu wasn’t spotted at the hearing, there are chances that he hasn’t attended it too.
Addressing her supporters, petitioner Zhou said that after fighting her case for the last 3 years, she feels exhausted and disappointed on hearing the verdict.
The #MeToo movement took off in China in 2018 when a college student accused her professor of sexual harassment but later, it was stifled in the region.
