House of Daily Ummat’s Owner Razed Down in Karachi

The social media users condemned duplicity of the newspaper's owner who has remained an ear-splitting voice against encroachments in Karachi

The anti-encroachment cell of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) razed down the illegal house of Daily Ummat’s owner Rafiq Afghan on Hill Park’s land.

The operation led by KMC Anti-Encroachment Department Senior Director Bashir Siddiqui is underway for the past four days.

KMC Director said that the action was carried out on the directions of Supreme Court (SC) and all illegally constructed bungalows on Hill Park’s land were demolished.

The house of Daily Ummat’s owner Rafiq Afghan was also among illegal structures that were razed down by the authorities.

The police and paramilitary Rangers personnel were present on the site to keep the situation under control while heavy machinery was used in the operation.

The social media users criticized Rafi Afghan for illegally occupying land in one of the posh localities of the metropolis.
