Tents For Flood Affectees of KP on Loot-Sale

Sources said that the government officials sell the tents in up to Rs 10,000 which are resold by vendors in up to Rs 20,000

The tents and goods procured for the flood affectees of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) are on sale in different parts of the province.

The portable shelters were procured by Pakistan Disaster and Management Authority (PDMA) for the affectees of the flood in the province.

However, instead of reaching the victims, they are in the markets in different parts of the Kumrat and Kalam valleys.

Sources said that the government officials sell the tents in up to Rs 10,000 which are resold by vendors in up to Rs 20,000.

It added that these tents are used by tourists for camping in different areas of KP.

Sources said the administration has turned a blind eye to the issue and the illegal activity is carried out openly.

While talking to News360, the flood victims said that they only get to hear the announcement of aids from the government but don’t get it because of the corrupt officials.

They demanded Prime Minister Imran Khan and Chief Minister Mahmood Khan to take strict notice against scrupulous elements infringing their rights.
