Asma Rani Murder Case: Parents Forgive Killer Mujahid

She was murdered in Kohat in 2018 by Mujahid Afridi, Sadiqullah Afridi, and Shahzaib Khattak for rejecting a marriage proposal

In the recent development of the Asma Rani murder case, the enmity between the Rajputs and the Afridi family turned into friendship as the victim’s parents have pardoned Mujahid Afridi in a jirga (tribal council).

The jirga was held at Serai Naurang where dozens of Afridi’s family members collectively apologized to Asma’s father Ghulam Dastagir and her family.

Closing the case on a different note, the parents of Asma Rani settled the terms with Mujahid’s family and forgave Mujahid Afridi.

Asma Rani was a third-year student at the Ayub Medical College Abbottabad while Mujahid hails from the Afridi tribe of Kohat.

Back in January 2018, Asma Rani was murdered in Kohat in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province by Mujahid Afridi, Sadiqullah Afridi, and Shahzaib Khattak for rejecting a marriage proposal.

Following it, Asma’s sister had stated that the suspects had terrorized the whole family and the area and later gunned down her sister.
