“Spirit of Nation in 1965 War Was Commendable”, Major (R) Masroor

He said that he was posted in Lahore at that time and his unit was headed by General Tikka Khan

While celebrating Defence Day with zeal and enthusiasm, the nation loves to pay homage to 1965 war martyrs and Ghazis and Major (R) Masroor Baig is one of them.

Major Masroor was in the infantry who courageously fought against the Indian Army in the 1965 war.

News360 contacted the retired soldier who lives in Mirpur Khas, a district in Sindh province.

Major Masroor Baig said that he was posted in Lahore at that time and his unit was headed by General Tikka Khan.

“The spirit of the nation during the war was commendable”, he told News360.

While sharing a memory, Major Masroor said that at one point his jeep wrecked down and he was unable to move forward but the locals came up to help him with all possible means.

“Indian army planned to had evening snacks at Gymkhana Club but they were disappointed”, he added.

While recalling bitter memories of 1971 war, Masroor Baig said that he was part of the infantry but the locals didn’t support them.

Major Masroor also informed that he was held as a war prisoner in 1971.

“Pakistani children should celebrate these days with zeal and enthusiasm”, he expressed.

The courageous soldier said that Pakistan would have won Kashmir if cease-fire wasn’t carried out.
