In a rare occurrence, a devoted lady polio health worker gave birth to a child while she was on duty in Tandu Rahim Khan in Dadu district, Sindh.
The polio vaccination drive embarked in the province last week and Shama Barhamani was working as a vaccinator.
On the last day of the drive, the polio worker was rushed to the hospital straight from her duty where she delivered a healthy child.

Focal Person Fahim Somroo confirmed that the mother and child both are healthy.
He said that the department had allotted leave to the worker but she kept on working during her last trimester by choice.
Fahim added that Dadu DC has expressed his desire to present an appreciation certificate to the courageous health worker.
