KP Starts School Cricket League For Grassroots Talent
A total of 40 teams comprising students from private schools and 236 teams from government schools will be divided into 76 pools with 510 matches
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Cricket Association started a month-long KP School Cricket League 2021-22 that was applauded by national cricketers for finding grassroots talent in the region.
According to a statement issued by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the league was scheduled to commence from October 7 in 35 districts of the province.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, KP Cricket Association CEO briefed about the new initiative and how it is going to help young children to polish their skills.
There will be over 4,000 players and 276 teams participating in 510 30-over matches in the tournament.

“The age criterion for the selection of players in the tournament is that players be born on or after August 14, 2005″, read PCB statement.
It further stated that the tournament will be played at 69 venues across the province.
In this regard, some cricketers send their wishes and luck to the authorities looking forward to boom cricket in the province.
The players congratulated PCB management for initiating the school league and they acknowledged that it will boost new talent in the country.
Praising the efforts, pacer Shaheen Afridi said that the league is going to explore players like Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam.
In the video message, Fakhar Zaman seemed hopeful that the new talent from the school league will represent the national team in the future.
Moreover, Mohammad Imran Khan congratulated the KP government and other authorities which are working on young blood.
