Reporter Gets Clean Chit in Kulsoom Nawaz Vaccination Case
The Lahore-based reporter Daniyal Umar sent a message on 1166 with the CNIC number of Begum Kulsoom Nawaz to check the accuracy of the system.
In a rare incident, a first information report (FIR) was registered against a reporter for reporting fake covid vaccine entry in the name of late Kulsoom Nawaz, wife of ex-prime minister Nawaz Sharif.
A delegation of the Health Reporters Association (HRA) met Punjab Health Secretary Imran Sikandar Baloch in this regard.
As per details, the Lahore-based reporter Daniyal Umar sent a message on 1166 with the CNIC number of Begum Kulsoom Nawaz to check the accuracy of the system.
As per the data retrieved, Begum Nawaz, who died in 2018, had been vaccinated on October 5 at Mailsi DHQ Hospital.
The reporter broke the news out in public and the government of Punjab registered an FIR against him.

Imran Sikandar assured HRA members that the reporter’s case will be resolved within 24 hours.
“No action will be taken against any innocent person”, he committed.
In a recent development, Special Assistant to Chief Minister Punjab Hasaan Khawar shared that the FIR is being withdrawn and praised the journalist for transparent, independent and honest reporting.
FIR is being withdrawn @Daniyalspeaks was the first one to verify the record for fake vaccination and therefore his name was included and now cleared.
Case being referred to FIA for further action.
