Imaan fainted when she was put in van, claims mother Shireen

Human rights activist Imaan Mazari fainted when she was put in the van, said her mother Shireen on Monday, as a terrorism court in Islamabad remanded her into three-day police custody.

“Iman Mazari fainted when she was made to sit in the van,” Shireen told reporters outside the court in the federal capital. “Despite being unconscious, she was not allowed to see a doctor. Imaan’s grandfather’s book of poetry was not even given to her.

The human rights activist was arrested after her participation in a rally organised in Islamabad. She wrote about the police breaking in her house in a social media post on X on Sunday.
