Govt notifies special court to hear cases under Official Secrets Act
A special court in Islamabad has been established on Monday to hear cases filed under the Official Secrets Act.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi, who was arrested on Saturday by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), is expected to appear before the special court shortly for the hearing of a cipher case registered under the same act.
The Anti-terrorism court (ATC) judge, Abul Hasnat, has been given additional responsibility to hear cases related to the Official Secrets Act.
Proceedings of the court will remain in camera in line with the law.
