PSX Concluded Outgone Fiscal Year With a High Return

The index wrapped up at 47,356 by gaining 12,934 points during the outgone financial year while the stock exchange gained only 520 points in the previous year

Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) concluded the fiscal year 2020-2021 (FY21) with the highest ever 37% return produced in the past 5 years.

The index wrapped up at 47,356 by gaining 12,934 points during the outgone financial year while the stock exchange gained only 520 points in the previous year.

It touched an intraday high of 47,460.31 and clocked at 47,356.02 level while during the session, Oil and Gas sector witnessed increased activity and the market capital increased by Rs 57 billion

As per details, the sectors that lifted the index were commercial banks with 77 points, Oil and Gas exploration companies with 57 points, pharmaceuticals with 28 points while investment banks with 21 points.

On the other hand, the sectors that made a dent in the index were fertilizer with 36 points, technology and communication with 22 points, automobile assembler with 7 points, glass and ceramics and automobile parts with 3 points.
