The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has paid a tribute to the overseas Pakistanis for the huge investment in Roshan Digital Account via a song sung by Shehzad Roy, Hadiqa Kiani and Faisal Kapadia.

Roshan Digital Account is a major initiative of State Bank of Pakistan, in collaboration with commercial banks operating in Pakistan.

These accounts provide innovative banking solutions for millions of Non-Resident Pakistanis (NRPs), including Non-Resident Pakistan Origin Card (POC) holders, seeking to undertake banking, payment and investment activities in Pakistan.

For the first time in Pakistan’s history, NRPs are being provided with an opportunity to remotely open an account in Pakistan through an entirely digital and online process without any need to visit a bank branch.

Opening the account will require only a basic set of information and documents. Banks have been asked to complete all necessary customer due diligence within 48 hours.

Eligibility

  • Non-resident Pakistanis with Pakistani passport, NICOP, POC or NIC
  • Individuals who are employed, self-employed, unemployed, housewives/homemakers, students, children, and pensioners.
  • Companies or entities cannot open Roshan Digital Account.
