Ishtiaq Baig Counter-Strikes Zoheb With Defamation Lawsuit
The plaintiff requested the court for a Rs 1 billion decree against the defendant
Former singer and brother of Nazia Hassan, Zoheb Hassan, landed in the soup as the renowned businessman and Nazia’s ex-husband Mirza Ishtiaq Baig has filed a defamation lawsuit in Sindh High Court (SHC) against him.
Mirza Ishtiaq Baig submitted in the lawsuit that Zoheb has been continuously using defamatory remarks and imputations against him in relation to Nazia’s death and their marital status.
Nazia Hassan died on August 13, 2000, in London from lung cancer at the age of 35.
The plaintiff requested the court for a Rs 1 billion decree against the defendant.

A few weeks earlier, the former guitarist alleged that his sister, a huge sensation, was poisoned to death by her husband.
Zohaib Hassan in a statement recorded under oath in London maintained that he is not leveling allegations but articulating what Nazia had written about Ishtiaq Baig before her death.
However, in a counter-strike, Ishtiaq Baig turned down all allegations and accused Zoheb of being a close friend of Noor Mukadam’s murderer Zahir Jaffer.
Baig also maintained that the authorities in London also confirmed that the pop sensation died a natural death.
He alleged that Zoheb is giving all these statements for monetary benefits.
Ishtiaq Baig expressed that Zohaib never wanted Nazia to get married to anyone and his ex-brother-in-law is doing all to tarnish his reputation.
