“Rakh Ganga May Mat Bahana”: Kangana Ranaut

Similar to Kangana, Sunil Dutt and Dev Anand also chose to swerved from the Hindu death rituals

One of the most controversial actresses of Bollywood Kangana Ranaut, is a budding poet as well who keeps on showcasing her talent from time to time. Kangana penned down another piece of poetry “Rakh” and channeled a request that “meri rakh ko ganga may mat bahana”.

Ranaut is an Indian actress and filmmaker who has been featured six times in Forbes India’s Celebrity 100 list. Apart from her acting skills, Kangana has been a hot potato and tries to catch the public eye with her contentious comments.

Tanu Weds Manu actress is known not only for her fearless and bold approach to burning issues but the actress also shares her impressions about life in her insightful poems.

Previously, Kangana has penned down a piece of poetry reflecting the beauty of the sky “Aasman” in a short video which she shared on social media.

Her recent piece “Rakh” is an inspiration from her hiking trip. Kangana channeled her desire in Rakh that she wants her ashes to be dispersed over mountains rather than immersing in river Ganges (a river where Hindus immerse their cremated remains) after her death.

“Meri rakh ko Ganga me mat bahana

Har nadi sagar me jaake milti hain

Mujhe sagar ki gahraiyon se darr lagta hain

Main aasman ko chuna chahti hoon

Meri rakh ko in pahadon pe bikher dena

Jab suraj ugen, to main use choon saku

Jab main tanha hu, toh chand se baatein karoon

Meri rakh ko us kshitij pe chhod dena…”

According to Hindu death rituals, the body of the deceased is cremated and the ashes are immersed in the river Ganges.

However, Kangana is not the only one from Bollywood Town who chose not to be submerged in water.

Dutt requested his family to unfurl his ashes on the grave of his wife Nargis Dutt who was also a renowned Bollywood actress.

Likewise, Indian film actor, writer, director, and producer Dharamdev Pishorimal Anand alias Dev Anand expressed his fear of burning during his life many times and requested not to be burnt to ashes after his death.

As per the actor’s last wish, Hindu death rituals were not followed and the legendry Dev Anand was buried in a graveyard in London, United Kingdom.
