Ushna Shah praises non-Muslim workers who helped her to offer namaz

Famous model-cum-actor Ushna Shah praised the non-Muslim workers at a beauty parlour who had helped her to perform wudu and offer namaz.

She shared her experience at a beauty parlour with the workers of the beauty parlour. She wrote on Twitter that the Christian and Hindu makeup artists had helped her to pray Namaz-e-Asr and ‘set an example of tolerance.’

Shah said that a Hindu makeup artist at Nabila Salon held up a faucet for her so she could perform ablution (Wudu) easily and a Christian makeup artist spread out the Janemaz [a piece of clean cloth or carpet in which people can offer prayer] for her.

Ushna Shah is vocal about the rights of minorities in Pakistan on multiple occasions besides advocating harmony and tolerance.

Ushna Shah had given a message on the Independence Day last year that she will ‘celebrate the day when the minorities in Pakistan are given the economic, physical and religious securities as well as the civic liberties promised to them. The very promise which laid the foundations of the country. WE means all of us and ‘we’ aren’t free. Let’s not kid ourselves.’

Over the horrific killing of the Sri Lankan manager in Sialkot last year, Shah said, “The scariest part? There are still many who argue “minorities are safe in Pakistan” every time I raise my voice for them. #justiceforpriyanthakumara”

The actor had also raised voice amidst the United States protests against racial discrimination and the social media outrage against the unjustified killing of an African-American.

She had taken to Twitter again and said, “Imagine if we were allowed to be this enraged for the minorities of our country. We can’t even take to the streets for them.. forget the establishment, our own fundos will label it heresy/blasphemy & execute us. #blacklivesmatter #pakistaniminorities”
