Covid Hospitals in Karachi Fill to The Brim
Within a week, Pakistan has reported an increase in coronavirus cases marking Karachi at 14% and the province at 8.37%
The spike in covid-19 cases in the city of lights Karachi shows an alarming situation as the facilities in the hospitals are running out.
Addressing at a press conference, Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Murad Ali Shah said that the coronavirus infection is surging in the province since Eid-ul-Fitr.
Due to the increase in covid cases in the province, the hospitals are facing lack of facilities and all available resources are being completely utilized.

He wrote that Sindh Infectious Diseases Hospital is full of patients due to the increase in covid cases in Karachi.
In the last 24 hours, more than 57 deaths have been reported in Pakistan due to the contagion.
Keeping in view the critical situation, the Provincial Task Force on coronavirus announced to extend restrictions for the next two weeks with stricter standard operating procedures (SOPs) across the province.
The meeting decided that the businesses would operate from 6 am to 6 pm while facilities related to health including hospitals, medical stores, and fuel stations will remain operational round the clock.
However, the resumption of educational activities in the province is still pending and CM advised the education minister to vaccinate the staff and teachers at the earliest.
The intercity transport is allowed with 50% seating capacity and in case of violation, the transporters would be liable for penalty.
