Pakistan Aptly Manages to Flatten It’s Covid-19 Curve
During the last 24 hours, only 838 cases returned positive out of 35,039 tests and the positivity ratio dropped to 2.39% with 59 deaths reported in Pakistan
As per data released by National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), Pakistan has been successful in flattening the covid-19 curve with its well-planned strategies and timely implementation of Nonpharmaceutical Interventions (NPIs).
During the last 24 hours, only 838 cases returned positive out of 35,039 tests and the positivity ratio dropped to 2.39% with 59 covid-19 deaths reported in Pakistan.
As per analysts, the ongoing mass vaccination has played a key role in curbing the deadly virus as the country has so far fully inoculated 3,006,648 people.

Meanwhile, 5,902,003 have received the first dose of the drug, taking the total number of doses administered to 11,085,787.
Initially, the population didn’t receive the idea of vaccination well and certain myths are still making rounds in society regarding the drug and its side effects.
However, the figures have shown an impressive increase in the number of doses administered.
Not only this, the federal and provincial governments imposed smart lockdowns amid Eid holidays besides closing schools, slashing workforce in offices to 50%, and reducing operational hours for shopping centers.
The decisions were formulated brilliantly in a manner that the country’s economy performed beyond expectations and projected 3.94% growth rate in the fiscal year 2020-2021 (FY21).
The growth projected by International Monetary Fund (IMF) for Pakistan was between 1.3% and 1.5%, however, the country showed an impressive positive growth than expected.
Being a developing state, the country was not in a position to impose blanket lockdown as it could sucker-punch the economy.
Unlike economically vibrant states like India and the United States (US), Pakistan had to weigh up several risks before making decisions but despite limited resources and a lack of facilities, the covid numbers in Pakistan are welcoming.
The leading American business magazine, Forbes, also lauded the country and its efforts to tackle covid-19 in comparison with neighboring India.
The article also praised the strategy of smart lockdowns that left a minimum dent in the wallets and the country succeeded in reviving its economy.
