Punjab Copies Edhi Foundation in Healthcare Services

Punjab is going to take lead from other provinces in the healthcare sector as it is going to launch an air ambulance service.
Punjab will become the first in the region to run air ambulances on the provincial level.

The decision was taken by Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar in a meeting on Sunday.

Three areas have been identified for the service in the first phase including Pothohar region, Dera Ghazi Khan and Rawalpindi.
The provincial government will initially purchase two helicopters that would be handed over to the Punjab Emergency Service.
Punjab chief minister has directed the authorities to complete all formalities in this regard at the earliest.
He said that the air ambulance service will extend the ability of the government in rescue operations particularly during natural calamities.
Buzdar said that the air ambulance service is the need of the hour as every human life is precious and every individual deserves timely treatment.
