The scientists at a Dubai clinic are working round the clock to produce carbon-copy beasts as cloning is in high demand in the competitive world of camel beauty pageants.
Back in 2009, Dubai became a hotspot for camel cloning after a female dromedary named Injaz was born after an uncomplicated gestation of 378 days.
Cloning is a technique scientists use to make exact genetic copies of living things, either by natural or artificial means.

Nisar Wani, Scientific Director at Reproductive Biotechnology Centre (RBC), said that the company has so much demand for cloning camels that we are not able to keep up with the orders.
Many customers also get their racing camels and milk-producing ones for the beauty pageants.
In this regard, Gulf clients are capable of paying 200,000 to 400,000 dirhams ($54,500-$109,000) to duplicate a dromedary.
According to details, the camels are paraded at dusty racetracks around the region and they are then scrutinized by judges.
A camel auctioneer in Kuwait said that customers judge the looks of the animals and that is the key to his business. “The price of the camel is determined according to its beauty, health, and how well known the breed is,” he said.
On the other hand, before investing in a young one, customers prefer mother to determine its beauty.
