Longest-Horned Markhor Hunted By American in Pakistan

Markhor is the national animal of Pakistan and an endangered species with its population reaching nearly around 5,000

American citizen Edward Joseph Hudson hunted down the longest horned Markhor in Chitral, Pakistan, under the trophy hunting program and the news was shared by the Deputy Commissioner Lower Chitral on Twitter.

The hunter has paid $88,000 as the permit fee to hunt the national animal of Pakistan and 80% of the amount will be used for the developmental and welfare work of the local population.

Joseph has set a world record by hunting Markhor with an arrow instead of a gun in the forest area of Toshi Shah in Chitral.

As per the details by DFO Wildlife Lower Chitral Altaf Shah, the longest horned Markhor in Pakistan was 10years old and its horns were measured at 44 inches.
