Absconder Nawaz Sharif again unleashes his tirade against military establishment

Ex-PM speaking at Asma Jahangir Conference alleges establishment interferes in judicial and govt affairs.

Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, who was declared an absconder by Islamabad High Court last year, has once again criticised the military establishment.

Speaking at the Asma Jahangir Conference in Lahore, Nawaz hit out at the military establishment and alleged that the establishment interferes in judicial and government affairs.

On the other hand, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry had termed the PML-N Quaid’s address at the conclusion of Asma Jahangir Conference as contempt of judiciary and judges.

Taking to Twitter, Fawad said:”Conference addressed by CJP and senior Judges is concluding with speech by an absconder it’s nothing but a contempt of Judges and Judiciary.”

The minister said that he had turned down the invitation to the Asma Jahangir Conference.

He said that he was invited to the event but he excused himself from attending the conference after knowing that the event will close with an address of an absconder.

The federal minister also advised the Supreme Court Bar Association to remain neutral so that lawyers could contribute.

Meanwhile, PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz and the organisers of the conference alleged muzzling of Nawaz Sharif’s speech after internet services reportedly suspended at the venue when he commenced speech.

They alleged that the broadband internet wires were cut off by someone during the event. They added that mobile internet was also suspended soon after the PML-N Quaid started speech.

Political experts claimed that Nawaz Sharif is used to change his stance on the military establishment. When in power, the PML-N Quaid becomes pro-establishment but turns anti after losing the power.

In 2015, he distanced himself from PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari after the latter unleashed his tirade against the military establishment. He even cancelled his scheduled meeting with Zardari after the PPP leader’s criticism on the military leadership.

Today, when the PML-N is out of power, Nawaz Sharif is once again criticising the military establishment.
