Asad Ali Shah reacts to Miftah Ismail’s claims for development work in Sindh

Asad Ali Shah asks Miftah Ismail for not doing in the public sector as PML-N led government was hugely insolvent.

KARACHI: The son of former Sindh CM Qaim Ali Shah, Asad Ali Shah has reacted to the recent statement of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) central leader Miftah Ismail for doing development work in Sindh.

In a Twitter message, former finance minister Miftah Ismail claimed, “Since PPP doesn’t believe in doing any work anywhere in Sindh and PTI only puts a “thakti” on PML-N projects.”

Ismail added, “PML-N has to single-handedly do all development work. Next time InshaAllah we will build 2 more bus lines in Karachi and a bus line in Hyderabad.”

Responding to his statement, Asad Ali Shah advised the PML-N stalwart for not doing in the public sector. He detailed that PML-N led government was hugely insolvent.

He added that the current account deficit had reached $36 billion just two years after the successful completion of an IMF program in 2016 that pushed the country to IMF again.

Shah said that it was the first time that a public section investment became higher than private investment.

In another tweet, Miftah Ismail said, “2nd the Ministry produced 1223 million kWh power by FO in Oct, 695% above Oct last year. Finally there is gas & LNG shortage across Pak. Homes have no gas to cook or heat water &  factories are shut because of no gas. This is PTI’s 4th winter. Who do you reckon is responsible?”

Asad Ali Shah replied, “All of this nonsense & its consequences we owe to huge expansion of public sector, esply energy sector. Dont expect secretaries/Ministers of Power & Petroleum or of Finance to solve these problems. Need smart policies, regulations in govt & businesses in private sector. Reduce”
