British Airline Virgin Atlantic Commences Pakistan Operations

The first flight of British airline Virgin Atlantic arrived in Islamabad on Friday from Manchester

The first flight of British airline Virgin Atlantic arrived in Islamabad, the capital city of Pakistan on Friday.

British airline Virgin Atlantic has been allowed to land eight flights a week and the first flight of Virgin Airlines reached Islamabad carrying 208 passengers from Manchester.

Zulfi Bukhari, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Overseas Pakistan welcomed the first flight of Virgin Airlines at Islamabad Airport. He was accompanied by British High Commissioner Christian Turner.

On this auspicious occasion, Zulfi Bukhari said, “Revival of international airlines would increase tourism and trade in the country.”

He further added, “This will further enhance the relations between Pakistan and the United Kingdom”.

After British Airways, Virgin Airlines is the second-largest airline in the UK to launch regular flights to Pakistan.

The official Twitter handle of the Virgin Atlantic airline said that they were thrilled for the maiden flight to Pakistan.

The airline will use the Airbus A-332 aircraft to continue a weekly eight-flight operation between the two cities.

The airline will operate four weekly flights between London and Lahore. It will also operate three flights between Lon­don and Islamabad.
