IHC orders Rana Shamim to Submit Affidavit by December 13

Court will indict ex-judge GB, if he fails to deliver affidavit in court

ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) Athar Minallah has ordered former Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Justice Rana Muhammad Shamim to submit affidavit in a contempt of court case for six days and adjourned the hearing till December 13.

During the hearing, Chief Justice Athar Minallah ordered that Rana Muhammad Shamim should submit his affidavit within a week or else he would be indicted.

Chief Justice of IHC Athar Minallah said that in order to proceed in this case it is necessary to present the original affidavit. If Rana Shamim has made this affidavit for any other purpose and did not give it for publication then the consequences Will Chief Justice Athar Minallah sternly asked to submit the original affidavit by Monday.

Chief Justice Athar Minallah said, “We can’t hold judges’ press conferences. A statement was made. The statement was that a certain person will not be guaranteed before the election that the judges are under pressure.” Growing news, a newspaper reported that a former judge had given an affidavit, the former judge had given an affidavit three years later, and the judge he said was on leave at the time.
