KARACHI: The New Town Bakery located in Karachi’s Guru Mandir set an example to help deserving people by dedicating a rack for food donations for the needy.

A Twitterati highlighted the act of kindness by the owner of Karachi’s New Town Bakery, saying that he noticed the special rack with an inscribed message, “For needy people” there. He added that an elderly woman came there and looked at the rack.

The shopkeeper encouraged her to take food items placed on the dedicated rack whatever she wants to take away. The Twitter user praised the act of kindness by the bakery’s management.

However, he was not the only one who showered praises.

Another user commented, “Alhamdulillah, people still have a lot of sense [how to help others in need]. There are many scenes like this in our country Pakistan. We request you to help people in this way and you also add your share to them. Deserving people don’t extend their hands to anyone. Support them and please make sure to buy from them too.”

A Supreme Court (SC) lawyer Zahid F Ebrahim wrote, “Great to see that Karachi’s New Town Bakery has a counter full of products which can be taken by anyone who can’t afford. Salam to its owners and management. #charity #karachi”

Mohammad Younus said, “This is how to help the truly deserving people. Do shop local vendors, elders and differently-abled persons, without bargaining. Just try to purchase some items from them even if you don’t need it. A professional beggar begs before everyone with outstretched hands and is not ashamed of it.”
