Fahad Mustafa, a famous Pakistani film and drama producer, actor, and host, has landed in hot waters for his controversial television serial “Dunk” and was accused as a promoter of misogyny through dramas in Pakistan. However, Fahad has maintained that the drama is a tribute to the victims who were falsely accused of sexual harassment.

Fahad Mustafa is one of the most admired actors in the showbiz industry of Pakistan. The actor also runs a production house “Big Bang Entertainment” which previously gave many hits including the controversial dramas “Jalan”, and “Nand”.

Recently, drama serial “Dunk” has become a hot potato and stirred a social media frenzy for its controversial storyline.

Producer Fahad Mustafa shed light on the script of the controversial drama revolving around the story about false accusations of sexual harassment. The actor-producer maintained that around 95% of sexual harassment cases in Pakistan are genuine, however, in some cases the accused are innocent.

“95% of cases of sexual harassment are genuine but in some cases, people are falsely accused, so we have to tell every kind of story”, he claimed.

Earlier, Big Bang Entertainment produced the drama serial Jalan which was criticized by the public for shamelessly portraying a sister who became the reason for her elder sister’s divorce as she gets involved with her brother-in-law.

Another drama serial ‘Nand’ by Big Bang stereotyped women in its plot, showing sister-in-law as a scoundrel and the wife being so innocently trapped by her in-laws leading to a separation between the couple.

Fahad Mustafa has been severely chastised by his fans surmising his productions as a promotion of misogyny in Pakistani dramas.

The actor came up with clarification and maintained that Big Bang productions have also tried to show different kinds of stories and it is his responsibility as a producer to tell all kinds of stories that are happening in society.

“We have always tried to show different kinds of stories,” said Fahad. “We also made a drama Meri Guriya which told the story of [the rape victim] Zainab.”

“As a producer, it is my responsibility to tell every kind of story and I believe people will enjoy watching this drama,” he added.
