Nasla Tower: Demolition companies seek soil report from administration

The commissioner has written a letter to the SBCA DG for pre-demolition.

Deputy Commissioner East Asif Jan Siddiqui has said that a few  companies have requested some reports regarding demolition of Nasla Tower. These firms will be provided with information including the soul report (soil testing), he added.

The deputy commissioner chaired a meeting regarding the demolition of Nasla Tower, which was attended by the companies expert in both traditional and controlled blast demolition

Speaking after meeting, the deputy commissioner said that the meeting was also attended by the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) officials.

He said that after giving all the information, the companies will send their recommendations that will be forwarded to the commissioner.

It should be noted that Karachi Commissioner Iqbal Memon had written a letter to the Director General Sindh Building Control Authority on the issue of demolition of Nasla Tower.

In the letter, the commissioner asked the DG that the pre-demolition of the Nasla Tower should be done. The said task should be carried out before the building’s demolition, he added.

He further wrote that the process should be made easier by removing the doors, windows, etc. The pre-demolition report will be submitted to the Supreme Court daily, he added.

According to sources, one of the two companies shortlisted will be selected by the commissioner.
