Olympics Add Breakdancing In 2024 Paris Event
16 boys and girls each will compete in the breakdancing competition in one vs one face-off

Olympics has announced good news for dance lovers. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) executive board has announced to include breakdancing in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Breaking, the official name for breakdancing, will be added as an Olympic sport for the first time in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Breakdancing made its Olympics debut at the 2018 Summer Youth Games in Buenos Aires, and it was added last summer to the agenda for Paris 2024.

Three other sports such as skateboarding, 3v3 basketball, and freestyle BMX will also be included in the 2024 Paris Olympics. Furthermore, sport climbing and surfing will also be included in the Olympic events.

Some 16 boys and girls each will compete in a one vs one battle. This new addition of breakdancing in the Olympics 2024 will hopefully attract youth viewers to the event.
Karam Singh, a British breakdancer, told BBC Sport, “It’s going to be great for breaking as it gives us more recognition as a sport”. “And for the Olympics, it will attract young people who may not follow some of the traditional sports”, he added.
The president of the International Olympic Committee, Thomas Bach, has described the new sports as events that will make the Games “more youthful and more urban”.
Breaking or breakdancing started in the 1970s in New York. It has grown into a conventional form of dance and artistic expression, commonly featured in films and other media.
