SC orders demolition of Nasla Tower within week
Directs Karachi commissioner to ensure payment to tower affectees from the builder
KARACHI: The Supreme Court of Pakistan has ordered demolition of Nasla Tower in a week time.
A case related to Nasla Tower was heard in the Supreme Court’s Karachi Registry on Monday.
A bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan ordered to demolish Nasla Tower within a week.
The court directed to raze the tower by a controlled ammunition blast and that no damage should be done to nearby buildings or people.

The court ordered the Karachi commissioner to ensure payment to Nasla Tower victims from the builder.
The apex court also directed the commissioner to submit report within a week.
Last month, the Supreme Court had binned the review petition filed by the residents and the builder against the demolition of Nasla Tower.
Munir A Malik, the counsel for the Nasla Tower prayed the court the builder purchased the land and did not encroach. He added that not a single property is leased in Sindhi Muslim Society.
Munir A Malik appealed to the apex court to review its decision to raze the tower.
However, the Supreme Court bench had rejected the review plea and issued an order to the Karachi commissioner to demolish the structure and submit a report.
Earlier on July 19, the apex court had passed an order to raze the Nasla Tower.
