The analysis says that out of 62 randomly collected samples, some 60 patients were detected with UK variant while the rest had South African ones.
The research paper declared the British variant as the main reason for the increase in coronavirus cases in Pakistan.
Pathologists including Dr Suhail Akhtar Chughtai and Dr Omar Chughtai told the primary reason for the spike in coronavirus cases during the third wave in Punjab was the presence of British variant.
The infected carriers who escaped from the Peshawar Police Services Hospital were also diagnosed with UK form of the virus which tends to spread faster.
