Cambridge Exams in Pakistan On Cards Before November

The federal education minister said that ‘O’ level exams will not be held from May 15 due to an upsurge in coronavirus cases

Despite Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mehmood returning covid positive, sources have disclosed insights regarding Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) exams in Pakistan which are likely to be held before November this year.

The federal education minister had announced the rescheduling of ‘O’-level exams due to an upsurge in coronavirus cases.

However, there will be no relief for A and AS levels students as their exams will be conducted as scheduled, Shafqat said.

Amid quandary, sources claim that there is a possibility that the Cambridge body will hold exams for O3 students as per schedule before November this year.

The decision may put the academic future of thousands of students at risk with its decision to conduct exams in June or July.

Sources apprised that an update on CAIE exams from the concerned authorities is expected in the next couple of days so that the students and officials can prepare themselves accordingly.

Moreover, the Inter-Provincial Education Ministers Conference (IPEMC) decided to conduct matric and intermediate examinations after June 20 and the final dates would be at disposal of the provinces.

After consulting with the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), the federal education ministry will ensure that all respective staff gets vaccinated on priority.
