Cases filed in Pakistani police stations against Masjid-e-Nabavi PBUH incident
Cases have been filed against ex-PM Imran Khan, Sheikh Rasheed and others over the Masjid-e-Nabavi PBUH incident.
Cases have been filed against former prime minister Imran Khan, ex-interior minister Sheikh Rasheed and ex-federal ministers Fawad Chaudhry, Rashid Shafiq, Dr Shahbaz Gill and 145 persons over the Masjid-e-Nabavi PBUH incident in different police stations under sections of mosque desecration and contempt of religion, however, the sections of abusive language and misconduct were not included.
According to the First Information Report (FIR), a group of pilgrims raised slogans in Masjid-e-Nabavi PBUH over the directives of the nominated persons and interrupted the worshippers. Their act disrespected the Holy Mosque in Medina and came under the contempt of religion.
The complaints filed by the citizens stated that foul words were hurled inside the Holy Mosque and slogans were raised which annoyed the other worshippers.
Surprisingly, the FIRs were not registered against raising slogans against calling Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif ‘chor [thief] nor it was filed over using abusive language against Shahzain Bugti and Marriyum Aurangzeb.
The registration of the cases apparently meant that the complainants have no objections over calling the politicians thieves or something else but they were only focusing on establishing the sorrowful act carried out in the Holy Mosque which was the contempt of religion. The FIRs would probably be considered as an acceptance to call the politicians thieves and turncoats.
The FIRs are usually registered in the vicinity of the concerned police stations of the crime scene. However, the cases were registered in Faisalabad, Islamabad and other citizens.
