The minister said when the government wants to bring such type of law in Pakistan, the media owners start a campaign against it in the disguise of an attack on freedom of speech.

Fawad Chaudhry said it has been proved once again that Reham Khan is a habitual liar.

Earlier, Zulfi Bukhari had approached the London High Court over eight charges of benefitting from the sale of Manhattan’s Roosevelt Hotel owned by Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) in the Reko Diq case.

The former BBC weather broadcaster Reham had uploaded a YouTube video in December 2019 in which she had alleged that the ex-adviser had a ‘personal interest’ in the sale of the national asset.

She had also posted four tweets in the same context.

Referencing the same case, the information minister yet again pushed for a law against fake news in Pakistan which has been vehemently opposed by the media outlets.
