Funds For Renovation of Sukkur District Jail Embezzled
The building department officials have submitted the report to jail higher authorities with pretense display of renovation worth millions
The building division has allegedly embezzled the funds released for the renovation of the district jail in Sukkur.
As per the agreement, the building department was supposed to restore the entrance wall of the jail along with the reconstruction of meeting rooms.
However, the work never started and the funds went into the pockets of the unscrupulous officials.
As per details, the building division officials submitted the report to higher authorities with a pretense display of renovation worth millions of rupees.

The forged report shocked the jail officials who sought an immediate investigation into the matter.
As revealed by sources, funds of nearly Rs 3.2 million were provided for the development work in the Sukkur district jail.
Earlier, the jail authorities had demanded an explanation from the building division but received no response.
Therefore, Sukkur Jail Superintendent has now written a letter to the competent authority to probe into the matter.
