Has Islamabad Become Unsafe to Live in?

Islamabad SSP Mustafa Tanvir released a voice message regarding the security of Islamabad but he was countered by senior journalist Rauf Klasra who believes the capital territory is unsafe.

Operations SSP assured that the police are after the criminal elements and added they have introduced a three-tier security plan for the federal capital.

Dr Tanvir said the presence of police at all border areas of the federal capital has been deployed in the first tier.

In the second tier, Islamabad police would carry out snap checking in different sectors while in the third tier, the patrolling across the capital territory would become vigilant.

Islamabad was declared safer than London, Paris, and Sydney in the World Crime Index Report 2020. The report comprised of data compiled from crime incidents reported in 2019.

However, since then, it has spurred in the federal capital, and the incidents of robberies, kidnappings, killings, theft, and other crimes witnessed a rise during 2020.
