How effective will Jamaat-e-Islami’s efforts to bring Govt and PTI on negotiation table?

Hope of an all-party conference has been created by efforts of Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Siraj ul Haq to reduce current political deadlock

After meeting of Jamaat-e-Islami leader and former senator Sirajul Haq with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan, there was hope for an all-party conference to discuss the federal and provincial assembly elections in the expected APC. However, analysts have commented on Rana Sanaullah’s statement the previous day and said that whatever the agenda of the All Parties Conference may be, the elections do not seem to be held on May 14.

On the invitation of Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Siraj-ul-Haq, the expected All-Parties Conference will have one-point agenda, i.e. elections to National Assembly and Provincial Assemblies.

Chairman Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan has formed a three-member committee on the invitation of Siraj-ul-Haq. The members of the committee include Pervez Khattak, Senator Ijaz Ahmed Chaudhary, and Mian Mehmood-ul-Rashid. The official notification of the committee has been issued by Central Secretary General Asad Umar.

Sources say that on the occasion of the meeting with Sirajul Haq, Imran Khan said that he himself will not be involved in the negotiations with the government, and if anything is clear regarding the elections, he can send his representatives.

Sources say that during the conversation, Sirajul Haque said that there is a severe lack of trust between the government and the opposition.

According to the sources, Amir Jamaat-e-Islami said that the government believes that if the elections in Punjab are held earlier, the balance of power will not be maintained. He said that the 90-day period has already been extended.

Sources say that Siraj-ul-Haq suggested to Imran Khan that he should take a few steps forward, if the Prime Minister takes two steps back, then the matter will be settled.

It should be noted that earlier, former senator Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Sirajul Haq along with a three-member delegation had met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Ayaz Sadiq and Khawaja Sadarfiq were also present on behalf of PML-N in the meeting. The current political situation of the country was discussed in the advisory meeting.

Sources of News 360 say that two opinions are developing in the camp of PTI regarding the All Parties Conference, Fawad Chaudhry, Asad Umar, and Hamad Azhar are complaining about this, they say that Jamaat-e-Islami APC is doing it at the behest of someone, so that the May 14th election can be taken forward in some way, while some circles including Imran Khan are of the opinion that if Jamaat-e-Islami wants to play a role of a bridge, then it should. It should be done.

However, while addressing the PML-N workers’ convention in Faisalabad yesterday, he said that no matter how hard one wants to press, the elections in Punjab will not be held on May 14.

He said that if an officer issues 21 billion rupees, he will keep paying 21 billion rupees for the rest of his life. He said that the general elections will be held in October under the supervision of the caretaker set-up and will be held simultaneously.
