Has Samaa TV Been Sold to Punjab Minister Aleem Khan?

For the past couple of days, speculations are circulating on social media that Samaa TV has been sold to Punjab Senior Minister Aleem Khan for Rs 3.65 billion, however, nothing has been confirmed by either of the parties.
Talking to New360, some sources said that the workforce for the news channel has depleted compared to Samaa Digital.
It added that the management made some serious amendments five months ago and numerous employees of the news channel were sacked while perks were abolished or reduced.
The transport facility available for female staff was suspended as well as reclaim on fuel cards.

In addition to it, Samaa TV has also called back its DSNGs from different districts and rumors say that they might be ready for sale.

The news channel has conducted several experiments in the recent past that reflect that the management is more inclined towards evolving Samma as a digital platform instead of a mainstream media channel.
The digital team launched Samma Money which provides content and information related to business news, has been launched too.

Similarly, they have introduced a separate platform for each news category ranging from entertainment to politics to social issues, etc.
It is being predicted that the founder of Samaa TV Zafar Siddiqui had long shifted from the mainstream media to the digital platform that was reflected in his book TV News 3.0 published in 2007.
