Karachi: Teachers of renowned education centres left stranded with loss of contracts
Roots Millennium College and The City School left their teachers stranded with loss of contracts
Two renowned education centres in Karachi have left their teachers stranded with loss of contracts in income for the upcoming academic year.
It was reported that Roots Millennium College had appointed teachers for its A Level Campus of Clifton in July and suddenly shifted its operations to Bahria Town.
It was learnt that the visiting faculty of teachers were informed in July 2022 of their decision leaving them stranded with loss of contracts in income for the upcoming academic year.
Sources said that the teachers were usually hired for the whole academic year at the education centres.
It is noteworthy to mention here that A level teachers are mostly part timers who are booked in advance in October and November for the academic session of August.
A similar situation occurred where The City School closed it’s A level section in North Nazimabad. The situation got worse in that case as the teachers came to know about it from the students instead of a formal notice by the school’s administration.
