KP Leads With Three Landmark Decisions After Budget

The government decided to commence classes in the evening shift from August, release funds for development projects at the beginning of the financial year and car registration in Re 1

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government presented a budget worth Rs 1,118.3 billion for the financial year 2021-22 on June 18 and since then, the government has made some laudable financial and administrative decisions.

Out of the total budget, Rs 371 billion is allocated for the annual development program (ADP) and Rs 747.3 billion for expenditure.

The first decision is related to public schools in the province as the KP education department has decided to commence classes in the evening shift from August.

In this regard, Provincial Education Minister Shahram Khan Tarakai said, “Students from remote areas will be given preference in the new program”.

The minister disclosed that the purpose of the initiative is to reduce the school dropout ratio in the province.

Moreover, he assured that the school structure will be upgraded and new teachers will be hired for the program.

Another key measure

KP Finance Minister Taimur Saleem Jhagra, while presenting the budget in KP Assembly, said that the government will release 100% of ADP funds at the beginning of the financial year on July 1.

The purpose of releasing the development budget at the start is to ensure timely completion of projects.

Cheap registration of vehicles

The finance minister announced that car registration in KP will now cost Re 1 while re-registrations will be free for residents of the province.
