‘Clean & Green Pakistan’ Embraced by KP, Lauded by UK
The provincial government has successfully achieved the target of planting one billion trees in the last 5 years
The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has taken an initiative to allocate funds for horticulture works in each developmental scheme under Prime Minister’s Clean and Green initiative.
Back in February, Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan launched the tree plantation drive in the province. He said that under the Ten Billion Tree Tsunami project, another one billion saplings are being planted in his province.

In this regard, KP Planning & Development (P&D) department has issued a notification saying that for plantation, 0.5% of the total cost of projects will be allocated in rural areas while it will be 1% in urban areas.
The purpose of the project is to promote tree plantation and ensure that the province remains clean and green.
The plantation will be seasonally resistant and environment friendly to keep the sustainability feature intact.
Further, KP provincial government has also successfully achieved the target of one billion trees in the last 5 years which has been appreciated and recognized at the international level.
Addressing the UN General Assembly in New York, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson acknowledged the efforts of Imran Khan in fighting climate change.
He said that Imran Khan not only promised to plant 10 billion trees but he is also materializing it.
