KPK general elections on May 28, Governor gives date

In meeting with election commission Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Haji Ghulam Ali gave date of May 28 for general elections in province, however, due to disturbing situation of law and order, he has also called it difficult to hold elections

Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Haji Ghulam Ali has given the date for general elections in the province. Governor KP has given Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) the date of May 28 for the election.

After meeting with President Dr. Arif Alvi, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Haji Ghulam Ali has given Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) the date of May 28 for general elections in the province.

Governor Haji Ghulam Ali said that the date of the election has been given in the province, but the law and order situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is not satisfactory, which makes it impossible to hold the election.

Earlier, a meeting was held between President Dr. Arif Alvi and Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Haji Ghulam Ali in which issues related to general elections in the province were discussed.

In a message released from the official Twitter account of the President of Pakistan, it has been stated that the President Dr. Arif Alvi advised Governor KP to follow the court decision related to the elections.

President Arif Alvi advised the Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to implement the order of the Supreme Court regarding the date of the elections after consulting the Election Commission.

The President in his conversation with the Governor KP said that in the Constitution of Pakistan, elections have been declared mandatory at the appointed time, while the Supreme Court has confirmed it.

President Arif Alvi told Governor Ghulam Ali that timely elections are necessary to strengthen parliamentary democracy in the country.
