Major power breakdown across the country due to unknown reasons

Including the federal capital, electricity supply to small and big cities across the country has been completely suspended, citizens are in serious trouble.

There has been a major power breakdown across the country including Karachi, Lahore, Quetta, Peshawar, and the federal capital Islamabad. Citizens are in dire straits.

Reports collected from Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, and Quetta show that large areas of these cities are without power and there was no prior notification from the concerned authorities.

Electricity breakdown continues in various areas including Orphanage, Riaz Colony, Thokar Niaz Baig, Mall Road, Canal Road, and Johar Town in Lahore.

Power supply is suspended from 117 grid stations in the federal capital in Islamabad, and restoration work has not yet started.

The National Transmission and Dispatch Company (NTDC), when contacted by the media, initially commented that the system was completely shut down at the moment.

Officials of the National Transmission and Dispatch Company say that many cities including Karachi, Lahore, Quetta, and Islamabad are currently affected and efforts are underway to find out the cause.

NTDC officials added that it may take 5 hours to restore the power supply.

According to residents of Faisalabad, there was no electricity in the area since 7:35 am on Monday, while social media users in Karachi reported the outage at the same time.

On being contacted by the media, the officials of the local electricity have said that there is a power breakdown in almost all areas of the metro city, but efforts are on to find out the cause of the power outage.

Residents of Malir, Landhi, Gulistan Johar, Akhtar Colony, North Nazimabad, II Chandrigar Road, New Karachi, Gulshan Iqbal, Ibrahim Hydari and other areas of the city have reported power outages.
