People’s CNICs Reach Five Sim-Limit Without Them Knowing
The citizens of Kasur have complained that multiple sims have already been registered on their newly issued CNICs and they are unable to register their sims
The locals of Kasur, a city of Punjab located near Lahore, have been in a hassle to get new a subscriber identification module (SIMs) on their newly issued Computerized Identity Cards (CNICs).
The citizens have complained that multiple sims have already been registered on their identity cards and they are unable to register their sims.
It has also been revealed that the data of National Database & Registration Authority (NADRA) in Kasur is being misused by unscrupulous elements and the authority pays no heed to the complaints.

Dozens of complainants visit NADRA to bring the sensitive matter to the light but the authority is acting deaf and mute. The locals of Kasur told most of the sims in their names were being issued by cellular network Ufone.
It has also been learned that Kasur police have recently nabbed several people involved in the illegal issuance of sims.
These numbers registered on a random NIC number are used to swindle naive people through different tricks.
Meanwhile, Federal Investigation Authority (FIA) has been trying to trace fraudsters involved in the malicious practice but it has not made substantial progress.
In light of orders of Supreme Court (SC) issued in 2015, an individual can be issued only 5 sims on his or her NIC.
