“Pakistan is Ready to Fight All Sorts of Challenges”, COAS

The army chief was addressing the 55th Defence and Martyrs’ Day Ceremony at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi

“Pakistan is ready to fight all internal, external, conventional and non-traditional challenges like hybrid warfare”, said Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa.

The COAS was addressing the 55th Defence and Martyrs’ Day Ceremony at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.

General Bajwa, while intimating the enemies of the state, maintained that if they want to fight, they will find the forces ready at every moment and on every front.

He added that Pakistan Army has fought every enemy with courage and defeated all external and internal plots.

Additionally, the forces have made the country’s defence impenetrable with self-sustainability in the defence capabilities.

Furthermore, he stressed that any individual or group trying to blackmail the state on the basis of regional, linguistic, ideological, or religious grounds will be dealt rigorously.

“There is no more room for any kind of extremism or violence on this land”, he said.

The army chief also urged the nation to make efforts for Pakistan and its progress towards a peaceful, modern Islamic and welfare state.

Not only this, he said that needless criticism, hatred and intolerance should be discouraged.

The event was attended by President of Pakistan Dr Arif Alvi, Opposition Leader in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif, Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani, Chiefs of the 3 armed forces, and members of the cabinet.

Apart from them, the families of the martyrs, ghazis, retired military officials, and the youth were also present at the occasion.
