Political Immaturity of Maryam Nawaz Backfired
The hurtful tweet by the PML-N vice president exasperated the nation already outraged at the cancellation of the New Zealand tour
PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz showed political immaturity and drew flak as she mocked Prime Minister Imran Khan on the cancellation of the New Zealand tour.
“I will get the green passport respected”, she captioned the tweet posting a photo of a snippet of news announcing the cancellation of cricket series by Kiwis citing security threats.

However, the immature tweet exasperated the nation already hurt by the sudden development.

Besides the people, the ministers, journalists, and members of the civil society lambasted Maryam Nawaz on the display of political immaturity on hurtful development.
Journalist Irshad Bhatti thanked how Maryam’s father ‘honored’ the green passport by cutting the birthday cake with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, meeting with Afghanistan National Security Advisor Hamdullah Mohib, and disparaging the Pakistan Army after getting absconded to London.

SAPM on Political Communication Shahbaz Gill said that being a Pakistani, he is sad and in pain but he will remember the barbs of Maryam Nawaz and her three courtier female journalists.

Further, in a press conference after the whole saga, Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid termed the cancellation of the tour as a conspiracy.
However, he added that it was not inappropriate to name the conspirators as Pakistan is a responsible country.
In response, journalist Gharidah Farooqi demanded Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid name the conspirators and bring out the truth before the nation and world.
