Record inflation ends confidence of Punjab people in democratic system

Majority of people in Punjab by-elections refused to vote for any political party, a survey conducted by Dunya News survey revealed.

The record inflation in the country has eroded the confidence of the Punjab people in the democratic system. In the Punjab by-elections, the majority of the people refused to vote for any political party.

Dunya News host Ajmal Jami visited the relevant constituencies of the Punjab Assembly to know the opinion of the people regarding the by-elections where the concerns of the citizens have come to light.

Anchorperson Ajmal Jami visited Jhang in connection with the by-elections for 20 seats in the Punjab Assembly and talked to the voters about their favourite political party.

On this occasion, a shopkeeper blamed the ruling Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) for the latest wave of inflation in the country. He said that he had voted for PML-N in the last election but this time he would vote for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

To the question of Ajmal Jami, a citizen replied that he will not vote for any party in the by-elections. He added inflation is the final result whenever he voted for a political party, so he will not vote anymore and the country will continue in the same direction.

Another citizen also rejected to cast vote. He said those who voted in the previous elections are not getting any good results. A citizen said that they have already been humiliated by voting, now they will not vote for anyone.

One citizen said that there is no point in voting, no one thinks of the poor, the current government is a thief. A citizen said that he had voted for PML-N in the last election as well and would vote for PML-N again because inflation has gone up.
